So I made some resolutions today. Yes, I know it's the 4th but they are my resolutions so it's my prerogative.
1. The utterly cliched get into shape resolution. I feel good that I am able to say this is the first time I have actually made this resolution. Last year I had the excuse that I had a 6 month old and was just taking a little longer than normal to lose the weight. The year before I was pregnant and the years before that I was in pretty good shape. So here we are, I am now 17 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. And a shocking 30 lbs over my lowest adult weight which was my first year in college. So the 17 lbs have to go. I'll use this category to chronicle my efforts.
2. I will actually work while at work. As soon as I finish typing this post. More on this in the Attachment-ish Parenting section. I have a lot of guilt here.
3. I will be neater. No really, I'm a total slob. I have the fantastic fortune to be married to a neat freak or I would long ago have drown in my piles of clutter. More on this in the Marriage Section (yet to be assigned a zippier name). And yes, I have a lot of guilt here too.
4. I will send email updates more frequently. My in-laws beg for new pictures of my son. It's easy but I never manage to do it.
5. And this is really the resolution to end all resolutions. For our house anyway. I WILL get my son to sleep better, but I will not leave him to scream his little brain out alone in his crib. I not asking for through the night or anything, I mean geez he's only NINETEEN months old, but maybe at least 4-5 hours at a stretch.
So there we are. After a few months of keeping these resolutions I'll be a whole new person.
Well, I can hope, right?
